Ramada, Inc. is one of the nation largest hotel chains that was established in 1954 by a restaurateur Marion W. Isabel and a group of investors as Ramada Inns. The name "Ramada" is of Spanish origin and it means shady cozy place for rest. The company opened its first hotel in Flagstaff, Arizona. Ramada, Inc. is based in Phoenix, Arizona. The main goal of the founders of the chain was to open family roadside motor hotels that would provide neat lodging with some amenities and great customer-friendly service. Since 1970 Ramada opened the hotels in some European countries. On the territory of any Ramada hotel there is a great restaurant owned by the company. There are different types of hotels, like treehouse, cave, capsule, ice and snow, and underwater hotels. Hotels are usually built at most popular destinations, such as resorts, historic places, casinos, or at the railway and bus stations. For motorists on long journeys there are motels - small inns which offer direct access from the apartment to the vehicle. They are usually low-quality rooms with almost no facilities.
